A great weekend!

Where to start?!?! This past weekend was fabulous! Friday night Mike and I went on a date! Yes, I said date! Ha! It has been years since we had an actual date with just the two of us. We went out for a nice supper and to a movie! Of course it had to be a scary one!!! What a nice evening we had together! Saturday was a great day for me! I headed out to Sioux Falls...alone! What a wonderful, yet short visit with Brenda. I sure enjoy having a little time to chat with her. From there I met up with Rhianna and Adia for lunch. Wow how time flies! Adia is 18 months now and growing like a weed. Unfortunately we don't spend enough time together, therefore she had a hard time remembering me! After a day of lunch and a little shopping, we headed out to Tallgrass for Soberfest. They had a great comedian who delivered a fabulous message! I truly believe that I may be heading in the right direction with wanting to go to school to ultimately end up in the field of Chemical and Substance Abuse. After what felt like a very short day together, I headed home. Sunday was pretty uneventful. Mike and I were kind of bums for the majority of the day. Mid afternoon we decided to take the kids to Grandpas to go swimming and met Heather to get Maddy and Ashlyn back for the week. I think they had a blast and they were definitely worn out in the end! All in all, our weekend was great and I wish we had more weekends like it! Until the next one............

Father's Day FUN!

For Father's Day the girls and I took Mike go-carting. Tasha, Jeff, and Abby also joined us. What a blast! After arriving at Thunder Road, we realized the girls were just an inch or two shy of being able to drive by themselves! :( So each girl had an adult to ride with. Even Jadyn thought it was fun...until...after riding with her dad who crashed into Ashlyn and I and giving us all whiplash! The girls jumped on the Eurobungee while the guys drove on the slick track! After about 4 hours of go-carting and jumping we decided it was time to go have supper. Famous Dave's has the best BBQ'd food ever! I think everyone enjoyed the day and we were all exhausted upon our arrival home! I do have to say...a few of us are a little...wait....ALOT sore today! The price of fun...OUCH!

Fun in Minnesota

On Saturday June 7th, Mike and I traveled to Fridley Minnesota for one of my distant cousins graduation. What a load of fun that was!! There is nothing like a weekend with the Norgaards! After a 4 hour drive, we started right in on the partying. Oh how I wish they lived a little closer. Dirk was his usual riot and Dawn is always a lot of fun to chat with. Along with Aunt Donna and the rest of the family, we got caught up on the daily drama of life. What a fabulous feast Dirk and Dawn prepared for the party. Jeremy should be happy with the hard work that was put into it all. After partying until 5a.m., we decided a couple hours of sleep wouldn't hurt! Pretty scary that Mike, Dirk, and I outlasted all the young ones!!! I guess the next morning was pretty uneventful as we packed up, didn't really help a whole lot with clean-up, (sorry Dirk!) and the usual..."we really need to do this more often" speech, we headed home. I can proudly say....No one's halo is nearly as shiny as mine when it comes to that part of the family! What can I say??? I've always been an angel! :)

Politics! Uugghh!!!

So here I am stewing over the Primaries last night! I have SO many questions left unanswered and wondering what WE can do to change this place we call home! I am frustrated with the fact that our Super Delegates vote however THEY want! Why have them if they aren't going to vote the way WE want them to??? South Dakota votes in the majority for Hillary and yet our Delegate supports Obama! What?!?!? What is the point in voting? WE aren't making the decision! I personally believe that the Super Delegates should be forced to give their vote to the person that the majority of the state votes. Am I the only one who can see that this is just wrong??? What can we do to change this? There has to be something!!!

Jammin' at KFF!

Mike and I took the girls to Kory and the Fireflies on Saturday! What a blast!!! Ashlyn and Lauren have experienced the concert scene before (Hannah Montana), but Jadyn had not. She was loving every minute of it. She was jammin' out and singing as loud as she could. Apparently we weren't aware who Kory was because Jadyn told me like every 5 minutes..."Hey mom, look...there's Kory". Poor Jadyn...with all the waving she did at the band, they never saw her. The people around us thought it was quite entertaining that a 3 year old knew Kory and the Fireflies music as well as she does! So after lots of singing and of course jumping, they were pretty wiped out! We grabbed the girls each a poster and headed out for the hour drive home. Next year, I think I will go by myself so it can be a little more enjoyable...for me anyway! :)

Mike is the BIG 3-0!

Memorial weekend was Mike's 30th birthday. Wow...how fast he has aged! Ha! We camped all weekend at Lake Poinsett and had a party that Saturday night. Thanks to everyone who helped celebrate! A big thanks to Tennille for making the "boob" cake! That was a great one!!! We had a blast and just need to find more reasons to have these fun little get togethers.
